When we were in school, there were two choices: food that was slow, expensive, and fresh—or fast, cheap, and unhealthy. We saw an opportunity to create a business where quality was never sacrificed for convenience. On August 1st 2007, two months after graduating, we opened sweetgreen in Washington DC, and served our first customers with a vision to reimagine fast food.
In a world where the long- and short-term effects of climate change pose major challenges for farmers, the need for regenerative food systems has never been more important. That’s why we’ve made a promise to do more for the planet, by taking less. Our plant-forward menu means that we’re already on average 30% less carbon intensive than the average American meal.
Sweetgreen makes it so easy, affordable and purposeful to eat healthy! The ingredients are always fresh and they are locally sourced, which I am a fan! There are numerous salads options under $15 but you can create your own as well (I get my protein from grains and plants so my bowls are usually $11)! This particularly location has the most beautiful sunlight and fits large groups! It’s also easy to park on the street, or there is a paid parking lot at the back for busy days.
This is my 5th time coming .The food is dee-lish and healthy. There are many veg and vegan options.
The staff at this location are sooooo kind and helpful . I am going to continue to come here .

I am a vegetarian and all salads can be made vegetarian and i was joyful.
We had one bowl (shroomami with white rice) and one salad (Humus crunch). Both were yummy and portion is good for a full meal.They offer complimentary bread with every dish you order.
